Covid-19 Update

Keeping our Community Safe and Healthy is paramount through this difficult time

We are all facing a distressing time right now.

The government is doing a great job putting initiatives in place to limit the spread of Covid-19 and keep all New Zealanders safe.

The aim of these measures is to limit person to person interaction in the community and in our workplaces. One of the key policies they have put in place is the closure of all non-essential businesses. These include restaurants, cafe's and cooked prepared meals such as takeaways.

They have issued an exemption for Meals-on-wheels and alternative meals on wheels services that have been referred from a DHB, ACC or MSD and provide a wellness service.

Ordering, payment and delivery must be contactless and the business must operate safely within the general health guidelines such as physical separation and hygiene.

We work with DHB's to supply our healthy and convenient products for the use of rehabilitation post illness and accident rehabilitation. We supply aged care and independent living needs. We are also an accredited ACC vendor and assist our customers physical and mental needs including anxiety caused by having to visit supermarkets and those who are most vulnerable right now.

We have put many protocols in place in our high grade food production facility to protect our staff through the use of PPE, social distancing in the workplace, shift patterns and self isolation outside of work so our staff are protected from transmission as much as possible.

Orders and payment are all processed online. We use NZ Couriers to deliver our meal boxes via contactless delivery. This means that they have no physical contact with our team and they will deliver to your door without having any physical contact with you when they drop your meals off.

As we fit into the classification as an essential business outlined above we have contacted MPI and MBIE to register as an essential service.

We have registered on the Safe practice register and have been informed by MBIE:
We can continue to produce Plate Up.

MPI seeks assurance from essential food businesses and support services that they are implementing safe practices to protect workers and prevent the spread of COVID-19 during Alert Level Four so we have been working with them ensuring that our protocols in place are safe for our team and for you, our customers.

You may continue to place orders and we will fulfil them as per usual.

However we have limited capabilities and do not want to push our team any harder than we need to at this time. If we need to cap our orders in the future preference will be given to our customers with referrals from govt agencies and existing subscription plans.

Stay safe New Zealand
